At Cirkut, we believe that privacy is a fundamental human right — not a feature you unlock with a premium plan. Our architecture is designed from the ground up to minimize data collection.
We do not sell your data. We do not build behavioral profiles based on your conversations. We do not monetize your personal information in any form.
Privacy isn't a checkbox for us — it's the reason Cirkut exists. Every technical decision we make is filtered through one question: does this protect our users?

Information We Collect
We believe in radical minimalism when it comes to data. Here's exactly what we collect — and why.

Account Information
To create an account, we only require your email address. This is used solely for authentication and account recovery — nothing else. No phone number required. No real name.

Messages & Media
All personal chats, group messages, photos, and videos are protected by End-to-End Encryption (E2EE). Your content is encrypted before it leaves your device and can only be decrypted by the recipient. Cirkut cannot read or access your messages — ever.
We do not collect location data, device fingerprints, browsing history, contact lists, or any behavioral data for advertising purposes.

Security isn't just a promise — it's built into our architecture. Here's how we keep your data protected.

No Tracking
We do not track your location or use cookies to monitor your activity outside of the application. What happens on Cirkut, stays on Cirkut.

Ephemeral Server Storage
Messages are stored on your device. We only keep encrypted data on our servers temporarily, until delivered to the recipient. Once delivered, it is permanently deleted from our servers.

Industry-Standard Encryption
We use Signal Protocol (or equivalent) — the gold standard for encrypted communications. Your data is mathematically protected, not just policy-protected.

Freedom of Speech & Content Moderation
Cirkut is a platform for open dialogue. We believe in free expression and do not engage in political censorship or shadow-banning.

Users have the power to block or report accounts that violate our community guidelines — such as illegal activities or direct threats of violence. Moderation stays in your hands.

Transparency with Law Enforcement
Any requests for data from law enforcement are carefully scrutinized. Because of our encryption architecture, we cannot provide the content of your messages even if requested by third parties. We cannot share what we cannot access.

You can delete your account at any time, no questions asked. Once deleted, all your information is permanently and irreversibly wiped from our systems.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. We are committed to transparency in all updates.
Significant changes will always be communicated to you through the app with adequate notice before taking effect. You will never be surprised by a silent policy change.
Continued use of Cirkut after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. If you disagree with changes, you can delete your account at any time.
